Fishing Rods

The rod is the foundation of any fishing setup. Browse the full catalogue at Items > Tools > Fishing Rods.

Fishing ships with four rod types, each tied to a mini-game:

• Casting Rods - Casting mini-game.
• Angling Rods - Angling mini-game.
• Fly Fishing Rods - Angling mini-game with a different toss phase.
• Deep Ocean Rods - Casting mini-game, usable only from the seat of a water vehicle.

Each rod determines:

• Fishing type and which mini-game you play.
• Profession that gains skill from each cast.
• Base stats (Strength and Flexibility) used by the mini-games.
• Ammo burn rate per attempt.

Rods accept four attachment slots: a Reel, a Blank, a Line, and a Lure. The next four lessons cover each.

Skill level: as of now, rods appear usable at any skill level with no observed penalty - low-skill players can wield high-end rods without a visible hit to success rate.
