The set effect seems to not be limited by number of pieces because it seems to just be a helmet in the 'set'.

This strong and sturdy helmet was originally a piece of standard gear issued to a member of Solsec, the security section of Helios Shipping, and later looted and worn by the Umbranoids who seized control of the Solar-9 wreckage.

Since it was mainly designed for defending freighters from boarding and to allow survival even in depressurized environments in case of accidents, it is completely airtight and equipped with sophisticated sensors to avoid stray shots that could unintentionally damage or puncture ship hulls from the inside.
